The smell is etched in my memory. Sugar cookies right out of the oven. Almond, vanilla and a touch of sugar make this the perfect bakery scent! Al's Bakery is long gone. In its place is Ameriprise Financial, where my dad worked for the last few years of his life. Sadly, his office never smelled like iced almond sugar cookies!
