Due to the purple pigment Amethyst might lose some of the rich purple colour when fired at a higher temperature. Several artists have experimented with this glaze in wood, soda, and salt at temperatures up to cone 12, which yielded great results! Make sure you always test when exploring alternative firings for any of AMACO's glazes.
