Antique Georgian Onyx Pearl Mourning Cross Pendant 18ct Gold Miscellaneous Vintage suggesting they were later assayedThis large antique Georgian mourning cross pendant dates to the early 19th Century. Its been carved from a slab of black polished onyx and fitted with an 18ct gold bale and tips, edged with golden balls. The crowning feature is a gold cross in the centre, lined with bright natural seed pearls which contrast beautifully against the jet black onyx base. Though it may seem morbid today, Mourning jewellery was extremely popular in the 18th and 19th
